Day 1 - Arrival, city tour and dinner
At the beginning of your trip, a city tour of Dresden awaits you, giving you the ideal opportunity to get to know the Elbe metropolis better. Afterwards, a tour guide will accompany you on a walk through the historic old town. During an outside tour, you will be shown famous sights such as the Dresden Zwinger, the Semper Opera House, the Catholic Court Church, the Royal Palace and the Procession of Princes. During the city tour you will visit the rebuilt Dresden Frauenkirche. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore Dresden's impressive and varied museum landscape on your own. The State Art Collections display a unique wealth of world-class works of art. The Porcelain Museum in the Zwinger is the world's largest museum of its kind. Raphael's Sistine Madonna adorns the Old Masters Picture Gallery and the "Green Vault" houses what is probably the most important treasure chamber in the world. The "Türckische Cammer" presents the most famous Ottoman collection in Germany. End the evening with a cozy dinner at the hotel. You can review the eventful day over a leisurely dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 - Meissen and Moritzburg
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, your second day starts with a trip to Meissen, where you will visit the traditional Meissen porcelain factory. For more than 300 years, exclusive porcelain has been produced here, which stands for passion, uniqueness and eternity worldwide. A tour guide will show you the museum and show workshop In the porcelain manufacturer's show workshops, you will see how Meissen porcelain is painstakingly handcrafted step by step. After a short guided tour of Meissen, you will have the opportunity to discover the town on your own.
In the afternoon, the route continues to the baroque Moritzburg Castle. A varied tour of the castle awaits you there. The representative hunting and pleasure palace of Augustus the Strong, built in 1542, houses precious porcelain, furniture and paintings that impressively reflect and bring to life the courtly living and dining culture of the 18th century. The tour focuses on the magnificent Baroque floor with its banqueting halls and an exclusive visit to the Historical Porcelain Quarter. You will then travel on the historic narrow-gauge railroad through the beautiful Elbe valley from Moritzburg to Radebeul. Here you will be greeted by Schloss Wackerbarth, Europe's first adventure winery and the oldest sparkling wine cellar in Saxony. Augustus the Strong had country estates and pleasure palaces built in the immediate vicinity of Dresden. Then as now, Schloss Wackerbarth exerted a dual attraction for connoisseurs and friends of the Mediterranean lifestyle. The romantic location in the middle of the Radebeul vineyards and the in-house production of excellent wines and sparkling wines offer you pleasure for all the senses. You can choose whether you would like to take part in a sparkling wine or wine tour.
The crowning glory of today is dinner at the Schloss Wackerbarth restaurant. You will enjoy a Saxon-Mediterranean menu and good service in a pleasant ambience in the middle of the vineyards.
Day 3 - Saxon Switzerland
Day three of your trip takes you to Saxon Switzerland. The first excursion point is the Bastei, the most famous rock formation in Saxon Switzerland. The Bastei rock offers you a unique panorama with a view of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Königstein Fortress is the next highlight of today's trip. Take the elevator up to the historic fortress and enjoy the impressive Elbe landscape along the fortress walls. Once at the top, a place of historical legend awaits you. The fortress is one of the largest and most beautiful mountain fortresses in Europe. Many dukes and electors have come here with their treasures and entourages to protect themselves from imminent danger. On your guided tour, you will see the fountain house, the officers' mess, the Georgenhaus, the Catholic chapel and the Hunger Tower. A guided tour also gives you access to the 400-year-old deep cellars and underground casemates. The tour then takes you back to Dresden. In the evening, a typical Saxon dinner awaits you in the Pulverturm vaulted restaurant. The Powder Tower, built in 1565 in the middle of the Old Town, was part of Dresden's defensive fortifications and was used to safely store gunpowder. The still impressive, historical fragments of the Powder Tower provide an extraordinary setting for Saxon hospitality and therefore ideal conditions for a cozy end to the evening. You can experience history at first hand while you dine in electoral Saxon style.
Day 4 - Dresden
Save the best for last. Today you will visit Dresden's landmark, the internationally renowned Semper Opera House. Let yourself be overwhelmed by its unique ambience. The tour guide will accompany you through one of the most beautiful and culturally renowned opera houses in the world. Admire the magnificent architecture with its richly decorated rooms and discover the background to the magnificent acoustics in the artistically designed auditorium. Immerse yourself in the eventful history of this glamorous house before you start your journey home.
