Even from a distance, the imposing building on the edge of the Leipzig old town catches the eye. Architecturally, it is reminiscent of the Berlin Reichstag. We take you on a lively and exciting tour through the former Imperial Court, which was founded in 1879 as the highest court of the German Empire. Everywhere you will find many references to the city and region's judicial tradition, decorative art by prominent artists, and the opulence of the interiors. We tell stories of significant trials, such as the self-defense of Karl Liebknecht or the Reichstag Fire Trial. As a highlight, we show you the large courtroom and the apartment of the President of the Imperial Court.
