The popular "Strietz" developed from a village for tobacco cultivation into a small town. The connection to the railway in 1891 spurred the establishment of trade and industry. There was a brewery, iron foundry, cigar factory, and piano manufacturing. The popular "Strietz" developed from a village for tobacco cultivation into a small town. The connection to the railway in 1891 spurred the establishment of trade and industry. There was a brewery, iron foundry, cigar factory, and piano manufacturing. In the 20th century, well-known art institutions and printing houses settled here. The Stötteritz Town Hall still bears witness to the independent town before Stötteritz also became a district of Leipzig. On our tour from the manor to the train station, we will present the history and stories of Stötteritz.
