In the heyday of the city of Leipzig in 1905, the New Town Hall was opened, reflecting the self-confidence of the bourgeoisie. The tower and architecture in the style of historicism remind of the former Pleißenburg that stood here. We will show you the impressive building from the inside and outside! The New Town Hall in Leipzig was opened in 1905 during the peak of the trade fair city. With its 900 offices and many representative halls, it was one of the largest, most magnificent, and most expensive in the world at that time. Standing at 114 meters, it features an unusually tall town hall tower, from which we will enjoy a view of the city at the end of the tour. The tower and the architecture in the style of historicism serve as a reminder of the former Pleißenburg that once stood here. To ensure city employees are always reminded of their office, the architect designed a snail on each door handle... Come along and see everything on our tour.
