1820 meters in altitude and 94 km to conquer at the Fichtelberg Cycle Marathon. Start: Chemnitz city center / Finish: Oberwiesenthal on the plateau of the Fichtelberg - the highest mountain in Saxony
The start is in Chemnitz on Brückenstraße in front of the city's landmark, the Karl Marx Monument. The route takes you along Theaterstrasse and Annaberger Strasse to Einsiedel and after around 48 km you meet up in the town of Zwönitz (refreshment point). Enchanting nature, dense forests, streams and meadows frame the road course.
You then reach the small town of Raschau in the Ore Mountains. Here you have completed half of the route and the steady climb up to the Fichtelberg begins with more or less steep sections. 5 km before the finish, the "executioner" awaits you with a 16% gradient, a short but steep section of the route. The finish on the Fichtelberg awaits you with refreshments for body and soul.
