As the 21st Gewandhaus Kapellmeister, Andris Nelson has been conducting the orchestra since 2018. In addition to more than 75 major concerts per season, the independent orchestra also performs at the Leipzig Opera and is in Johann Sebastian Bach’s weekly cantatas with the Thomanerchor. The Gewandhausorchester Leipzig offers a unique musical experience in one of the most culturally rich cities in Saxony.
