With a varied concert program, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig invites its guests to a unique musical experience.

Founded in 1743, the Gewandhaus Orchestra is the oldest civil orchestra in the world and is one of the most renowned international ensembles. As the 21st Gewandhaus Kapellmeister, Andris Nelson has been conducting the orchestra since 2018. In addition to more than 75 major concerts per season, the independent orchestra also performs at the Leipzig Opera and is in Johann Sebastian Bach’s weekly cantatas with the Thomanerchor. The Gewandhausorchester Leipzig offers a unique musical experience in one of the most culturally rich cities in Saxony.
