During the Advent season, the visitor mine Marie Louise Stolln in the Saxon Switzerland invites you daily to Christmas Mettenschichten and thus commemorates the old mining tradition of the last shift before Christmas – an exceptional yet traditional variant for a Christmas celebration! During a short tour, you will pass through the visitor mine Marie Louise Stolln, which leads into the mountain at ground level. After about 400 meters, you will reach the Mother Mary Chamber, the former ore storage with the underground lake. During a rustic mine feast or a cozy coffee gathering by candlelight, you will learn more about the tradition of Mettenschicht and listen to contemplative but also humorous Christmas stories and anecdotes. Christmas live music rounds off the program underground.
