On the tour with the committed eyewitness Rainer Müller, everyday life in the GDR is linked to the events that led to the peaceful revolution of autumn 1989. Since the early 1980s, young people from Leipzig gathered for peace prayers in St. Nicholas Church. The church provided the space to meet and discuss freely, which was not otherwise available. This developed into the Monday demonstrations that shook the regime of the SED.
