Knight's Life at Jakubzburg Mortka

At a glance

A castle that looks exactly like it did in the Middle Ages? In the small village of Mortka you can see a medieval castle designed, planned and built in the 21st century. But not only that. You can also celebrate and spend the night here. The Jakubzburg is a novelty in the whole of Europe. The quaint interior and romantic ambience of this imposing castle complex blend perfectly into the picturesque landscape. The castle was modelled on an old example from 1327 in Hoyerswerda.

The castle opens its doors to visitors for special events. Then the castle shines in bright colours as a backdrop for theatre, concerts and festivals. At weekends, the castle café treats guests to medieval flair.

Guided tours of the castle for all ages are available by appointment and for groups of at least 10 people via the provider's website.
The facility is also available for overnight stays in the rustic rooms or for private celebrations.
