Exhibition "CDFriedrich inspires"
A virtual encounter with the painter in Saxon Switzerland.
Rocks, stones and trees - the Elbe Sandstone Mountains inspired Caspar David Friedrich to create some of his most famous works. The planned exhibition CDFriedrich inspires follows in the painter's footsteps as he travelled through the landscape.
We encounter Friedrich in a contemporary way with a virtual show from December 2024. Visitors will be able to experience Friedrich's creative process immersively. Dreams, thoughts and impressions of nature flowed into the creation of his works. New images emerge before our eyes that are astonishingly similar to Friedrich's, yet different. We become part of our own world of images, created from motifs of trees, rock formations and distant views, inspired by Friedrich and his experiences in the Elbe Sandstone.
