On the first weekend in Advent the town of Thum in the Ore Mountains welcomes its visitors to the traditional Christmas market, offering the full range of local culture and folk art in a very special atmosphere. The Christmas market in Thum is traditionally opened on Saturday, involving Father Christmas and a 2-metre-long “Stollen” Christmas cake which is shared out among visitors.
