The orchestra with 50 musicians has its seat in the Elbe city Riesa. The orchestra emerged from a union of the historic "Elbland Philharmonic Orchestra Saxony" (Riesa) and the "Symphonic Orchestra Pirna". Around 150 performances are scheduled every year. The trademark of the New Elbland Philharmonic Orchestra is not only the organizational flexibility but also a very wide-ranged repertoire from the operetta and Johann Strauß to great classical symphonic music. This repertoire is completed by manifold forms of student's and family concerts, church concerts and contemporary music.
