White house in the agra park Markkleeberg

At a glance

The white house is agra park's architectural adornment.

The white house is agra park's architectural adornment. It was erected atop the park's highest point in 1896/97 by the newspaper publisher and royal consul from Würtemberg, Paul Herfurth. The plans of the architect from Gautzsch, Gustav Hempel, were inspired by the palace of pleasure, "Petit Trianon" in Versailles. The paths and neo-baroque terrace shapes are in keeping with the building.

With its gilded hall of mirrors, the neoclassical villa in agra park is a popular venue for events. Two rooms on the ground floor of the bulding can be used for private events: the ballroom (78 m²) and the small lounge (48 m²). The city of Markkleeberg's registry office is located in the "Weißes Haus".

  • ballroom: 55 seats
  • small lounge: 20 seats
