Christmas traditions from the Ore Mountains as far as the eye can see on the Christmas market in Chemnitz. The twelve metre high, five-storied Christmas pyramid, a five metre high Schwibbogen, a likewise oversized musical box and further traditional figures from the Ore Mountains like nutcrackers, miner and angel represent the typical handicraft of the region. Approximately 200 wooden booths around the guildhall offer Christmas delicacies, tree decorations and above all traditional folk art from the Ore Mountains. On the adjoining medieval market, historically clad craftsmen present old handicraft techniques.
