Arrival
Coming from the south, you can reach the A72 via the A9, interchange "Bayrisches Vogtland" or via the A93 interchange "Hochfranken", both in the direction of Chemnitz. Coming from the north, also take the A9, "Bayrisches Vogtland" junction in the direction of Chemnitz, or from Leipzig in the opposite direction (Hof) on the A72. Coming from the east, take the A4 at the Chemnitz Nord junction to the A72 towards Hof.
You can then leave the A72 at the Plauen-Ost (exit 7) or Treuen (exit 8) junctions. From the Plauen-Ost exit, turn onto the B173 towards Plauen. After about four kilometers, turn right towards Möschwitz. Following the course of the road, you will reach the Pöhl dam after approx. four kilometers; from the Treuen exit, turn towards Elsterberg/Netzschkau. Take the second exit at the next traffic circle. After approx. four kilometers, turn left towards Pöhl Dam. Follow the road for a further six kilometers until you finally reach the Pöhl dam.

The districts of Pöhl and Neuensalz are served by the following bus lines on weekdays:
V-17 Plauen - Gansgrün - Pöhl Dam
V-18 Plauen - Möschwitz - Pöhl Dam - Reimersgrün
V-220 Plauen - Pöhl Dam - Barthmühle
The V-220 line runs every 2 hours from Straßberg via Neundorf and Plauen to the Pöhl dam to Barthmühle and back again. It offers good connections to the Vogtlandbahn at Plauen-Mitte, Jocketa and Barthmühle stations.
V-221 Jocketa - Helmsgrün
The V-221 line runs every one hour between the Gunzenberg campsite, the boat landing stage, Neudörfel, the castle peninsula, Helmsgrün with its nudist beach, Jocketa railroad station and Liebau.
Arrival by train
You can reach the municipality of Pöhl in an environmentally friendly, inexpensive and relaxed way by train. The Jocketa, Ruppertsgrün and Herlasgrün stops are served by the RB 2 and RB 5 lines of the Vogtlandbahn. From Hof or Dresden, you can take the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn to Plauen, Vogtl. oberer Bahnhof and change there to the Vogtlandbahn. From Gera, the Vogtlandbahn RB 4 runs to the Barthmühle and Rentzschmühle stops, and further information on timetables and fares can be obtained from the Vogtland Tourist & Transport Office on 03744/ 19449.
