O-SEE Challenge again in 2024 in the Zittau Mountains Nature Park with the status of a German Championship.
There is great anticipation for the XTERRA O-SEE Challenge 2025 and the associated 25th anniversary of the cult O-SEE Challenge brand, as the event will not only be another spectacular triathlon highlight, but will also once again be the venue for a German Championship.
Just a few weeks after organising this year's German Cross-Triathlon Championships, the German Triathlon Union (DTU) has decided to award the 2025 German Championships to Zittau/Olbersdorf once again.
O-SEE Sports e.V. as the organising association is proud and delighted with the trust placed in it by the DTU. By once again organising the German Championship, the XTERRA O-SEE Challenge is consolidating its reputation as an outstanding sporting event and strengthening the region's image as a first-class active sports destination.
But that's not all. In 2025, the anniversary event of the XTERRA O-SEE Challenge will receive a further upgrade in addition to the already awarded status of the German Cross Triathlon Championships of the German Triathlon Union: the organisation of the European Championships for the XTERRA Europe series. The European Championships will be held over the XTERRA distance (1.5/37/10km). The Zittauer Gebirge Nature Park last hosted an XTERRA European Championship in 2021.
With the championship double of the German Championship and the XTERRA European Championship, the 25th O-SEE Challenge is a worthy anniversary event - a quarter of a century of cross triathlon at Olbersdorfer See / O-SEE is a reason to celebrate. And so, from 15 to 17 August 2025, the O-SEE expects around 1500 athletes from all over the world: professionals and amateurs, sporty families and ambitious kids as well as numerous spectators and guests. During this time, the otherwise tranquil north beach of Lake Olbersdorf will once again be transformed into a vibrant tent city, O-SEE City.
