To celebrate Albert Lortzing, the Lortzing 26 Festival will take place at Leipzig Opera from April 24 to May 3, 2026.
Albert Lortzing wrote the impressive and his last opera "Regina" in 1848, which he named after his wife. The content and special feature of the work is the revolution of the time and the associated social unrest.
