23rd Chursächsische Winter Dreams

The renowned Chursächsische Winterträume winter culture festival will present the two Saxon state spas Bad Elster and Bad Brambach as feel-good locations for an inspiring stay of culture and relaxation in the natural winter landscape of the Upper Vogtland from the 1st weekend of Advent 2025 to February 22, 2026. In its 23rd edition, the successful festival will once again stage the cultural and touristic diversity of the entire music and winter sports region as an eventful winter dream: In addition to the numerous top events in the Bad Elster Royal Gardens , the festival program will also include selected experiences from the neighbouring tourist resorts of Adorf, Klingenthal, Markneukirchen and Schöneck.

Advent and Christmas program in the König Albert Theater
The historic König Albert Theater, the main venue for the festival, will delight guests with a wide range of operettas, musicals, classical, pop and jazz concerts. Classical highlights of the Christmas season include the symphony concerts "Winter, Glanz & Gloria" (28.11.) and "Weihnachtlicher Saitenzauber" (12.12.), the Christmas concert by the MDR Children's Choir (21.12.) and the end-of-year candlelight concert (30.12.). Other top events include special concert and theater evenings with Ulrich Tukur (13.12.), a Buddenbrooks evening with Axel Milberg (20.12.) and Christmas entertainment with Ella Endlich (05.12.), Olaf Berger (14.12.) and an Irish Christmas show (26.12.). There is also the exquisite "Ball de Culinaire", a stylish variety dinner event in the Königliches Kurhaus (28.+29.11.), a glowing Advent festival (05.-07.12.) attracts visitors to the center of the Königliche Anlagen Bad Elster and "Die feuerrote Blume" (The Fiery Red Flower) delights as a winter family theater at the end of the year (28. & 29.12.).

After the lively New Year's concerts by the Chursächsische Philharmonie (01.+02.01.), the new year will bring exciting musical theater in Bad Elster with the winter ballet "The Nutcracker" (10.01.), the premiere of the operetta classic "Madame Pompadour" (24.01.), an opera gala by the Semperoper Dresden (13.02.) and the musicals "Anatevka" (09.01.) and "Best of Broadway" (31.01.). There will also be highlights such as the grand symphony concert with the "Verdi Requiem" (30.01.), the legendary black light theater from Prague (11.01.), the burlesque revue "Vintage Wonderland" (03.01.), the Cuban show event "Pasión de Buena Vista" (01.02.) or special festival evenings with Wolfgang Niedecken (16.01.), Herkuleskeule (18.01.), Fritz & Aaron Karl (24.01.), Anna Mateur (25.01.), Dieter "Maschine" Birr (14.02.), Uschi Brüning & Günther Fischer (15.02.), Dirk Zöllner (20.02.), Stefan Gwildis (21.02.) and much more will ensure exclusive winter dream experiences in a unique setting.

World of lights & adventure region:
As part of this winter culture festival, the Königliche Anlagen Bad Elster will once again be staged in a radiant world of lights: Numerous artistic illuminations creatively visualize the entire historical complex in a whole new, luminous dimension of stay! Festival visitors can round off their experience in the music and winter sports region in the unique wellness landscape of the Albert Bad withbrine spa in Bad Elster or the idyllically situated bathing and sauna area in Bad Brambach. The adventure region of the Upper Vogtland can also be explored in the newly opened Perlmutter adventure museum in Adorf or the famous musical instrument museum in Markneukirchen. In addition, winter fun can be actively experienced in family-friendly winter sports areas in Schöneck or Erlbach as well as at first-class international events in the Sparkasse Vogtland Arena Klingenthal.
