The Central Saxon Summer of Culture (MISKUS) is one of the most diverse cultural festivals in Germany. Concerts, musicals, theatre, fairytale and family festivals bring the most beautiful places in the region to life - from porphyry quarries to dams. Professional artists and amateurs work together to create a colourful programme in old walls, palaces and castles, monasteries and ruins, barns and parks.
The association of the same name organises a three-month festival every summer, which brings culture to the region of Central Saxony with more than 40 events and over 3,000 participants.
The programme is diverse and ranges from a classical concert by the Vogtland Philharmonic Orchestra to spiritual medieval chants, rock n' roll, Irish folk music and fairytale events for the whole family.
