Frittered sandstone and the queen of the Upper Lusatia can be explored along this approximately 23 km long section of the path. Look forward to a beautiful and varied hiking route!
From Oybin, it is only an ascent to Jonsdorf. The route continues on steep paths. The former millstone quarries are worth a visit, and the Carolafels offers a wonderful view of the town and surroundings. The Jonsdorf organ rocks are a special rarity: frittered sandstone that crystallized like basalt due to contact with lava. The Nonnenfels with its bizarre shapes must of course not be missed on the route. The diversity of the sandstone is due to the available (angular) or absent (round shapes) contact with lava, which caused metamorphoses. A highlight - literally - is the Lausche. At 793 meters, the Lausche is the highest peak of Upper Lusatia - the queen of Upper Lusatia. Always descending through beautiful forest and over meadows, we eventually reach the lovely village of Großschönau.
