The route starts at the Bürgerallee parking lot (information board with the little knight) and leads north along the Kurpark to the Oybin train station. To do this, you need to cross Friedrich-Engels-Straße (S133) (30 km/h zone). Passing the station and along the foot of Mount Oybin, the route continues following the Blue Mark north along the Goldbach stream and, after crossing the narrow-gauge railway track, continues on the valley path. From the valley path, the route makes a right angle turn and crosses the S133 again, then continues north (still Blue Mark) to the Teufelsmühle. From here, the route follows the Yellow Mark southeast to the Töpfer. The shorter but steeper and therefore more strenuous ascent via the Krieche (really not recommended in snow and ice!) can be avoided by choosing the more moderate ascent via the yellow dot. Upon arriving at the Töpfer, you can enjoy the view (in good visibility) and discover the animals Turtle (a bit hidden behind the hut) and the Brooding Hen (signposted). The route then leads from Töpfer with the Green Dot to the Eisgasse and then through the Kleine Felsengasse to the Scharfenstein. For the brave, the climb to the Scharfenstein Needle (via steep metal stairs) is worthwhile. From Scharfenstein, the route continues following the Yellow Dot into the Große Felsengasse. Before entering this, the Edmundshütte (shelter hut) invites you to take a rest. From the Große Felsengasse, you can often view Mount Oybin and the village and discover the “Taube” (signposted). At the end of Große Felsengasse is the Muschelsaal, and then the route continues downhill northwards following the Yellow Mark along the Fürstensteig to the Rosensteine. A worthwhile detour can be made to the Kelchstein (about 200 meters “back” – signposted from the Rosensteine). From the Rosensteine, the route follows the Bürgerallee (Yellow Mark) back to the starting point, the parking lot.
