The Terrainkurweg trail around the gallows ponds in Altenberg is a short, varied hike through the charming nature of the Eastern Ore Mountains. The trail first leads along the Kleiner Galgenteich, a popular natural pond, and on to the Großer Galgenteich, which serves as a reservoir and part of the Altenberg drinking water reservoir. Surrounded by dense forests, the route offers fresh, clear air and soothing tranquillity. Gentle ascents and descents make the circular route particularly pleasant.
Alternatively, the tour can also be started from the P4 parking lot at the campsite.
