Hike around the Scharspitze - a summit of the "14 eight-thousanders in the Eastern Ore Mountains".

From the Lauftreff Kurpark start in the direction of Erlebnisberg Altenberg. Follow the Querweg and at the end of the path turn right onto Sonnenhofweg, then keep left once and continue towards Bergstraße. You will reach Bergstraße to the B170. Cross this and continue downhill (there is a supermarket on the left) following the signs for the mining educational trail. In the valley you reach the Schwarzwasser area. There keep left, cross the small bridge and follow the Aschergraben. The path leads you through shady deciduous forests past the Goethe memorial and the old bobsleigh run. After the ascent you reach the Scharspitze shelter. Take a short break, enjoy the silence, and then continue straight ahead refreshed. After about 200 m slightly downhill, keep right. At the next intersection, turn right onto Langergassenweg, which takes you back to Altenberg and the starting point.
