The route takes you through the Eckhardtteiche landscape conservation area and past the romantically situated Buschmühlenteich in the forest. You will pass a medieval hunting resting place and enjoy wonderful views.

The extensive and idyllic Abtwald near Burkhardtsdorf invites you to hiking and relaxing. Starting at Burkhardtsdorf train station, the path leads past the picturesque Eckhardtteich. Shortly after, you reach the refreshing water treading pool. The path leads uphill across meadows until you reach the Abtwald. At the “Steinernen Tischl,” a distinctive point preserved from medieval times, there is an opportunity for a short break. Then continue to the romantically situated Buschmühlenteich in the forest. Afterwards, you hike briefly uphill again and walk a section along the Eisenstraße with magnificent views of the Ore Mountains ridge. The descent into the valley along the Zöpfelsteig leads you back to the starting point.
