The route takes you through the Eckhardtteiche landscape conservation area and past the romantically forest-surrounded Buschmühlenteich. You will pass a medieval hunting rest place and enjoy magnificent views.

The extensive and idyllic Abtwald near Burkhardtsdorf invites you to hike and relax. Starting at Burkhardtsdorf station, the path leads past the picturesque Eckhardtteich. Shortly after, you reach the refreshing water treading basin. The path climbs uphill over meadows until you reach the Abtwald. At the "Steinernen Tischl", a striking point preserved from medieval times, there is an opportunity for a short rest. Then it continues to the romantically forest-surrounded Buschmühlenteich. Afterwards, you hike briefly uphill again and walk along the Eisenstraße with a wonderful view of the Ore Mountains ridge. The descent into the valley along the Zöpfelsteig leads you back to the starting point.
