Pass the “Butterfässer” basalt pillars on the way down. The trail leads towards Annaberg-Buchholz (headquarters of the Ore Mountains administrative district) with its landmark, the St. Annen church, one of the most important late-gothic hall churches. Continue riding through two typical villages, Cunersdorf and Sehmatal. Pass the beautiful forest around the “Liebenstein”. Approach the peak (807 m) with a guesthouse and lookout tower on narrow paths. The Scheibenberg is known for the so-called “Orgelpfeifen” – 30 m tall basalt pillars, which are situated at the bottom of the peak.
