The route takes us to the scattered settlement Rübenau, about 10 km from Olbernhau. A very beautiful hiking path on the KAMMweg passes the Stößerfelsen (valley view into the Natzschung valley). The Lochmühle in the valley can be reached via a detour. The route demands some endurance. Route (circular hike):
From the hiking car park Saigerhüttengelände or Grünthal train station, the path leads on the E3 (blue) long-distance trail towards Pföbe. Before crossing the S 216, you reach the Kammweg (blue), which you continue to follow. At the fork Pföbe, the path goes via the Sedanweg, the Stößerfelsenweg uphill to the Stößerfelsen (683 m, rest and viewpoint). Along the Stößerfelsenweg, you reach the kleine Steinbach. Continuing on the Brandleitenweg, you come to the Steinbach, where you leave the Kammweg. The Seinbachweg leads to the Hammerweg towards Rübenau. After a slight ascent on the Hammerweg, the Kammweg (blue) branches off. This marking is followed until Rübenau. The Hammerweg passes the church to the center of Rübenau. There is a place to eat at the Bergschänke. The return route follows the Hammerweg towards Olbernhau past the Wettinplatz. The Hammerweg flows into the Königsweg with the marking EB (red). The Dörfelbach valley is crossed, past the monument of Forest Master Schaal, the paved forest path leads downhill to the compression station. At the crossroads Heidenweg, you continue following the marking EB (red) through the industrial area to the Saigerhüttengelände car park, our starting point.
Alternative route:
From the Wettinplatz, walk straight on the Roter Hirschweg. This leads downhill to the next crossroads, where you go to the industrial area. There you reach the long-distance trail EB (red), which you follow back to the starting point.
