Cinovec - Děčínin From the Eastern Ore Mountains to the Elbe
Cinovec, parking lot at the golf course
Děčín, main station
We start in Cinovec, passing the Church of the Assumption of Mary and a spring fountain, and ride leisurely on Route 23 through forests to the junction to Komáří hůrka (Mückenberg 808 m). Along the way, the view from the new rest area Sedmihůrská vyhlídka is also worthwhile. The detour to the Mücken tower with the oldest observation tower in the Ore Mountains is highly recommended. You can also reach the summit by the oldest and longest cable car, which runs from Graupen/Bohosudov (Mariaschein) and also transports bicycles. After enjoying the panoramic view, continue on R23 to Fojtovice (Voitsdorf), Adolfov (Adolfsgrün), until reaching Krásný Les (Schönwald). After passing under the A 17/D8 motorway, we reach Petrovice and then Tisá, the entrance to the Tissaer Walls rock area, which was declared a natural monument in 1996. A nature trail leads through sandstone formations popular with climbers. Route 23 then takes us to Sněžník. Here too, we recommend a stop at Děčínský Sněžník (Hoher Schneeberg 722 m) with its observation tower. From Maxičky, we then descend steeply to the Elbe town of Děčín (Tetschen), along the Elbe to the main station as the destination. The Renaissance castle with a baroque rose garden, the Schäferwand with zoo and via ferrata are just some of the attractions of Děčín.
