The profile of the route is not particularly difficult, but with a length of 21 kilometers it is still challenging. In addition, there are a few short crisp climbs and descents, especially in the Tyssaer Wänden, which take a bit of energy and cost time in some respects. So you should definitely allow enough time for the hike - not least to enjoy the Benno Cave, the Grenzplatte and the Tyssa Walls as well as the paths to and from them.
If the route is too long for you, you can break off the tour from April to October at the Tyssaer Wänden or on the way back at the "Fußweg zum Schneeberg" stop and take the hiking bus back.
The tour is also ideal as the first stage of a two-day multi-day tour with an overnight stay in Ostrov and a visit to the High Snow Mountain on the second day. A suitable route description can be found here for this tour: From Rosenthal to the High Schneeberg
The hike starts at the "Mühlsteig" bus stop in Rosenthal-Bielatal and from there follows the Mühlsteig trail across the field to a signpost with a red line, which points to the Mühlsteig trail and the Bennohöhle cave. On the way to the Bielatal valley, take a short detour to the Großvaterstuhl viewpoint with an interesting view of a prominent climbing peak and the Bielatal valley.
In the Bielatal valley, follow the red line towards Wormsbergweg and the Grenzplatte viewpoint (AP). On the way there, you will pass the impressive Bennohöhle cave, which is not to be missed.
From the Benno Cave, continue along the Wormsbergweg to the Grenzplatte, a very impressive viewpoint above Ostrov, from which you can see as far as the Hoher Schneeberg and which invites you to take a break.
From the Grenzplatte, follow the red line until, in a sharp right-hand bend, a signpost points straight ahead to the Tyssa Walls. This path or trail then runs directly along the border and is marked with a green line.
At the next major crossroads, follow the signpost and yellow line to the right to the Tiské Steny - the Tysza Walls.
Once you reach the Tyssa Walls, follow the circular route with the green line through the Tyssa Walls until you reach the quaint inn, the Touristenbaude.
From the Tyssa Walls*, you then hike along the red line and through bizarre rock formations ("Kingdom of Heaven") to Ostrov (island). You then cross Ostrov via the road to the end of the village, where you come back onto a wide forest road and back into the "Bielagrund forest area".
After one and a half kilometers, the narrow Dürrebielegrund (yellow line) joins the trail on the right. Follow this, always slightly uphill under steep rocks, until you reach a bridge on Steinbornweg, where a signpost with a red dot and the inscription "Rundweg Rosenthal" points back to the village.
From this point, follow the red dot to a bus stop "Fußweg zum Schneeberg" in the middle of the forest and from there continue straight on along the cycle path back to Rosenthal past the customs houses to the Mühlsteig.
*If the tour is too long for you, you can end it from April to October with the hiking bus at the Tyssaer Wänden or on the way back at the bus stop "Fußweg zum Schneeberg" in the forest. More information and tips can be found in the further description of how to get there by public transport.
