The connection of the Elbe and Black Elster rivers
The starting point is in Grödel. Follow the path to Glaubitz and discover the nature and forest pool, as well as the sports path in the Glaubitz forest. The trail continues to Radewitz, Marksiedlitz via Streumen and Koselitz. Here you have the opportunity to visit the village church and the Koselitz ponds. Continue past the castle church and the rose garden in Tiefenau. Via Gröditz you reach the destination Elsterwerda.

The route starts on the Elbe cycle path west of Grödel and at the signposts for Flößergraben. Cycle north along the ditch, then cross the railroad line and take Bahnhofstraße. Then turn right onto Milchweg and at the traffic circle take the third exit towards Sageritz onto Kirchgasse. After the cemetery, turn right onto Straße der Jugend and then left onto Wiesenweg. Continue along Wiesenweg, cross Großenhainer Straße/B98 before Glaubitz and then turn right onto Radewitzer Weg.
At the entrance to Radewitz, turn left onto Erlenweg and then left again after the pond onto Marksiedlitzer Weg. Cross Marksiedlitz and follow the road along the canal. After Streumen, turn right onto Koselitzer Straße and follow the signs to Koselitz. In the village, cycle along the road "Am Rittergut" and follow the village road to the pond area. After the church at Dietrichsteich, turn left and continue through the pond landscape towards Tiefenau.
After Tiefenau station, turn right onto Rieser Straße/B169 and continue straight on to Gröditz. In Gröditz, turn right at the main road onto Großenhainer Straße/S90, turn left again after about 100 m and follow the canal for about 6 kilometers to Elsterwerda. Shortly after entering Elsterwerda, turn left onto Großenhainer Straße/B101 and, after crossing the "Pulsnitz", turn left again into the park of Elsterwerda Castle. After the castle square, also turn left onto Dresdner Straße over the Schwarze Elster. The route ends here at the promenade in Elsterwerda town center.
Weatherproof clothing and tool kit recommended
Use the A4 in Dresden or exit onto the A13 from Berlin. Follow the B98 from Großenhain or the B6 from Meißen or Oschatz to get to the starting point.
There are several parking possibilities around the starting point in Grödel.
You can reach the starting point with bus line 450 from the direction of Riesa and Großenhain. Alternatively, you can take the train RE 50 from Leipzig and Dresden to the nearby Glaubitz.
