This tour starts at the Hammerweg car park below the old town and leads via Kirchsteig or with thethe inclined lift up to the church (access to St. George's Church and Schwarzenberg Castle). The path leads left into Obere Schlossstraße to the market - left past the Schwarzenberg Information Centre into Eibenstocker Straße. Then turn right into Schneeberger Strasse. Uphill, the tour crosses Hauptstr. and continues uphill past the old vicarage to the left to the viewpoint at Galgenberg (560 m). From here, continue to the Bockauer Weg via Eibenstocker Str. and straight on into Anton-Günther-Str. From there, turn left to the viewpoint at Becherberg.
Go back a bit to the E3 hiking trail to Kratzbeersteig and then turn right. Left behind the residential houses parallel to the Pappelweg. The tour turns left after approx. 200 m into Bermsgrüner Str., straight on into the street "Am Rockelmann" and after approx. 200 m up to the right to the lookout point Waldbühne (681.3 m). Continue out of the forest until you reach Pappelweg and then turn left towards Bermsgrün. At the transformer tower, follow the yellow markings to the Kirchsteig and continue across the meadow downhill. At the "Rosenthal" garden, turn left and walk towards the old town with a view of the castle and church. At the main road, turn right, cross the traffic lights and continue right towards Erla along the main road. After about 300 m, after the railway bridge, the path turns left and continues towards an allotment garden site. From there, turn right in the direction of Erla-Crandorf along the edge of the forest. In Erla, the path then leads uphill to the left until it reaches the iron road and a magnificent view of the surrounding region. Turn left past the model sports airfield to Freitaggut.
Continue downhill to the Alte Annaberger Straße. At the shopping market turn right into Alte Heerstr. and after about 200 m turn left into a path past a horse paddock to the "Ottensteinpark" (473.5 m). Above on the left is the Ottenstein lookout pulpit. Further down the valley, you cross Karlsbader Str. (watch out for the main road!) and reach the car park of the shopping market. Behind it, the tour continues along the Schwarzwasser to the next bridge and then to the right into Bahnhofstraße. The direct ascent to the Totenstein is no longer possible.
Follow the alternative route to the right along Bahnhofstraße to the old market hall. In front of the sports shop, the stairs on the left lead into the Totenstein Park. Follow the path to the viewing point at Totenstein (477.8 m) on the left. Continue down through the park towards the old town and to the "Unteres Tor". Continue in the direction of the market and turn left into Untere Schlossstraße, past the carillon Meißner Porzellan and finally past the church, a ride on the inclined lift behind it or the stairway in front of it leads to the starting point of the hike.
