From the Lommatzscher Pflege to the Elbe
29.08.2024
Caution!
Due to recent heavy rain events, the Obstblütenweg is partially difficult or impossible to cycle.
Current situation:
1. Road construction work between Niederlommatzsch and Naundorf with partial full closure
2. extreme deterioration of the path structure due to heavy rain between B6 Wölkisch and the Lautzschen junction
The Obstblütenweg is the shortest connection from Lommatzsch to the Elbe cycle path in Niederlommatzsch. From the Lommatzscher market the cycle route follows the Meißner Straße towards Zehren to the town exit. Here, turn left according to the cycle path signage. The Ochsenstraße, a historic street, is reached. Unfortunately, the path quality over 2.5 km is very poor and it is hoped that this gravel-bound surface with many gravel areas and depressions will be repaired soon. This Ochsenstraße leads through the wide landscape of the Lommatzscher Pflege to Wölkisch. Here, the federal road B6 is crossed and you continue on the road to the Alte Schmiede in Oberlommatzsch. The town is crossed heading to Naundorf. Before reaching the town, turn left at the reservoir onto the hiking trail. Soon the asphalted road and Niederlommatzsch are reached. Steeply downhill, turn right down to the Elbe cycle path. This is reached at the country inn Elbklause with the Radhaus accommodation and the ferry.
Requirements:
From Lommatzsch, 900 m are cycled on the state road until the town exit and the turn onto the Ochsenstraße. The following Ochsenstraße is asphalted for 1.8 km to the Löbschütz/Paltzschen junction. The remaining 2.5 km must be covered on a partly difficult-to-cycle gravel-bound path, partly gravel sections, in slightly undulating terrain. In Wölkisch, special attention must be paid when crossing federal road B6.
The route continues via Oberlommatzsch on an asphalted secondary road. Before Naundorf, you turn onto a gravel-bound path and then join the district road. In Niederlommatzsch, go 140 m steeply downhill to the Elbe cycle path.
Special features:
The cycle route is continuously signposted in both directions with cycle path signs. Points of interest are indicated. There are directional and distance indications, and orientation boards provide information.
