The Frohnauer Weg Mining Trail is a circular tour, so it is possible to start individually along the tour. The route description starts the tour at the Markus-Röhling-Stolln visitor mine.
The hike begins at the Markus-Röhling-Stolln. Past the mine's mouth, the Pochzeugweg leads up past historic mining technology to the miners' forge and the horse-drawn potter's shaft of the Markus Röhling drift. The restaurant Bergschmiede Markus Röhling is open on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00.
The trail continues in the direction of Schreckenberg to the turnaround point of the "Iron Sheep" discovery pit and then follows the Markus Röhling trail past the 10,000 knights' tunnel mouth to the famous Frohnau hammer. Here you can stop for a bite to eat in the restaurant of the same name in the historic Hammerherrenhaus. At Frohnauer Hammer, the nature trail turns right into Albertstraße towards Dörfel. Passing old miners' dwellings and the Himmelfahrt Fundgrube, you reach the Krönung/Malwine. There it is worth taking a detour to the Schreckenberg ruins with a wonderful view of Annaberg.
The trail continues towards the nature conservation centre past mountain meadows and fields to the edge of the Sauwald forest. Here you turn right and reach the starting point at the Markus-Röhling-Stolln visitor mountain.
