The hike runs through the Mulden floodplain, along long stretches of the Mulde river, across meadow paths and through small, idyllic villages. Hikers will be rewarded on arrival by the beautiful Protestant parish church in Löbnitz, where they will find the largest and most extensive illustrated Bible in Germany.
The route to Löbnitz runs along meadow paths close to the river. The route crosses small sections of forest and then runs along the edge of the forest to Reibitz. You then follow field and forest paths to Lake Seelhausen. Here the hiker is treated to a wonderful view. Passing a stud farm, you approach the village center and the church, which is famous for its ceiling of coffered panels with biblical images and floral motifs. In Luther's day, the route from Wittenberg to Leipzig led via Kemberg and Löbnitz. Luther was on friendly terms with the manor owner Ernst von Schönfeldt.
