The signposted hiking route leads from Leisnig into the Schanzenbach valley and on the way back along the Freiberger Mulde into the town.

The area surrounding the town of Leisnig is fascinating with its green, hilly landscape, which is traversed on this hiking tour. Signposted as circular hiking trail no. 7, the route leads along the Schanzenbach stream past two of the seven former water mills: Schanzenmühle and Leithenmühle. The two ponds, Maschinenteich and Mühlteich, invite you to observe nature. After the half-day tour, it is worth taking a look at the Luther Room in the old town manor. The famous Leisnig caste order is on display here. On special days, the sounds of the Jehmlich organ can be heard in St. Matthäi church.
