The nature trail is ideal for a half-marathon trail run in unfamiliar terrain. The trail is very well marked so that even those who are not familiar with the area can easily find the route while running. The surface is challenging. It goes over granite, basalt and sandstone. In the villages, of course, you run on "normal" paths and roads. I also took in a few viewpoints and covered 850 meters in altitude
Bohemia's first nature trail was opened on the western edge of Bohemian Switzerland by Rudolf Kögler in 1941. At the time, it was 12 km long and ran for long stretches along the geologically interesting Lusatian Thrust. After the expulsion of the Sudeten German population (1945), this nature trail fell into oblivion. In 2006, however, it was reopened along a similar route as a circular hiking trail with a length of 20 km. In honor of Rudolf Kögler, the trail is now called Köglerova naucná stezka (Kögler's Nature Trail).
