The United Mulde flows through the Leipzig region, past beautiful idyllic floodplain landscapes, through villages and historically significant towns such as Wurzen and Eilenburg.
Almost 90 kilometers of the United Mulde flow right through the Leipzig region. The paddling route from Wurzen to Eilenburg is about 20 km long without the Eilenburg Millrace. Before the Collauer Weir, also called Bobritzer Dam, the paddler can turn left into the Eilenburg Millrace and experience an exciting often bizarre river landscape on about 8 to 9 km. Sometimes fallen trees block the passage for inflatable boats! Here you have to paddle carefully and look for a passage, which sometimes means you have to lie down flat in the inflatable boat or canoe!
In the Millrace the Eilenburg Rowing Club offers a rest or exit possibility. In addition, the Millrace divides in the urban area of Eilenburg, where the paddler must keep to the right!
Eventually, the Millrace flows back into the Mulde; here you must paddle about 200 m upstream to the landing stage on the right.
