The Wermsdorf Forest, with its numerous lakes and ponds, is one of the most popular hiking and excursion areas. Even today, it provides the necessary rest and relaxation.

Hikers embark on an idyllic country trip on their tour to the Collm. Even the Saxon electors already appreciated this area very much.

The hiking route leads through the Wermsdorf forest to the cultural monument ‘Wüstes Schloss Hayn’, further to the Silbersee and Eselbrunnen up to the Collm. With its 314 meters above sea level, the Collm is the highest elevation in the region and is visible from far away. From the 18 meter high, freely accessible Albertturm, outdoor enthusiasts have a magnificent panoramic view of the North Saxon countryside. At the foot of the mountain in the village of Collm, the 1000-year-old linden tree in the Collm cemetery can be admired. It is the oldest lime tree in Saxony, is 18 meters high and has a trunk circumference of 11 meters. The way back to Wermsdorf offers interesting and varied forest scenes. Back in Wermsdorf, you should definitely pay a visit to the largest hunting lodge in Europe, the Hubertusburg.
