First of all, follow the asphalted path past the outdoor pool, heading uphill through the forest until you reach a crossroads. Here, on the right, follow the wide forest path, which is marked as the “Rundweg Thalheim” (Thalheim circular trail). At the crossroads at the Lohhütte, keep right and follow the path straight on through the forest and across meadows. You will glimpse the lower part of Gornsdorf and Meinersdorf spread out before you. Leave the Rundweg Thalheim, stay on the farm track, and head downhill towards Meinersdorf until you reach an asphalt road. Follow this to the right, past a small plot of allotments and the cemetery. Behind the cemetery at the hairpin bend, follow the upper path to the left and you will enter Sonnenstrasse. Passing meadows and fields, you will then come to Hauptstrasse via Gartenstrasse. Follow this to the left and after about 100 m, turn right to the Graubner Gut farm. Cross the farm estate. The path leads you uphill again. At the next crossroads, where there is a large maple tree and a bench, head to the right over the meadows. Follow the path that leads past the ski slope until you reach the turn-off for the “Goethehain”. This charming rest spot is located on the left above the path in the middle of the forest, and is an attractive place for a little detour. The path leads back into the valley, heading right at the Glückauf hut. As soon as you meet the paved road, follow it and turn left onto August-Uhlmann-Strasse. After a few metres, turn right to stay on August-Uhlmann-Strasse. Turn right into Auerbacher Strasse, and left into Bergstrasse shortly afterwards. Then take another left again, and a sharp right into Am Andreasberg. At the Volkshaus in Gornsdorf, turn right towards Hormersdorfer Strasse, cross it diagonally, keeping to the left, and follow Badstrasse uphill to the right until you reach your starting point.
