The Göltzschtalradweg, with a route length of approximately 50 kilometers, starts in the center of the music city Klingenthal and passes by the Sparkasse Vogtland Arena and the Muldenberg reservoir to the Göltzschtal Bridge.

The start of the Göltzsch Cycle Path is located in the town center of Klingenthal. From here, it is not far to the impressive Sparkasse Vogtland Arena, one of the most modern large ski jumps in Europe.

In the area of the village of Muldenberg, the first rafting village in Germany, the Göltzschtalradweg crosses the Mulderadweg. Thus, there is the possibility to cycle eastwards to the balcony of Vogtland—to Schöneck—or in the other direction further into the Ore Mountains. A mountain bike is recommended for both routes. However, the Göltzschtalradweg continues from Muldenberg to Grünbach above the towns of Falkenstein, Auerbach, and Rodewisch, which line up like pearls.

In Falkenstein, you can cycle on the 21-kilometer long Falkenstein–Oelsnitz cycle path, a former railway embankment now with a wide asphalt lane, into the Elster valley, where you can continue your tour on the Elster cycle path.
Between Rodewisch and Lengenfeld, a detour from the Göltzschtalradweg to the Plohn leisure park is worthwhile, which annually delights hundreds of thousands of guests from big to small. Past idyllic meadows and fields, you reach Lengenfeld and Weissensand–Muhlwand on the former railway embankment, now a sandy cycle path. With some luck, you can watch hobby gold prospectors at work or use the stop to visit the alum mine, which is located directly on the path.
Shortly after Muhlwand, a tour on the Raumbachtalradweg is recommended, which connects Mylau with Reichenbach and Heinsdorfergrund. Directly, it goes to the world’s largest brick bridge, the Göltzschtal Bridge. This impressive structure spans the valley from Mylau to Netzschkau and still serves as a scheduled rail route today. The Göltzschtal Bridge is the top photo motive of Vogtland.

Up to the confluence of the Göltzsch into the Weiße Elster between Elsterberg and Greiz, you can follow the river on a road and combine your bike tour with the Elster cycle path.

Note: This section in the valley is not a developed cycle path!
