This section of the Göltzschtal cycle route is especially suitable for families and leads from Lengenfeld to the Göltzschtal bridge.
From Lengenfeld you travel past idyllic meadows and fields partly on the former railway embankment, now a sand-gravelled cycle path, Weissensand–Mühlwand. If you’re lucky, you can watch amateur gold prospectors panning or use the stop to visit the Alaun mine, which lies directly on the path. An idyllic rest area is offered at Käppel’s raft ponds. You go directly to the world’s largest brick bridge, the Göltzschtal bridge. This impressive structure spans the valley from Mylau to Netzschkau and still serves as a scheduled train route today. At the Göltzschtal bridge there is a nice children’s playground and a snack bar. Due to minimal gradient, the route can easily be ridden back as well.
