Follow in the footsteps of George Bähr, the architect of the Dresden Frauenkirche, who spent his childhood and youth years in our holiday region.

You start at the train station in Lauenstein. Follow Bahnhofstraße to the market square and turn right into Teplitzer Straße, follow it until Zschörnelweg branches off to the right. Hike this path to the retention basin. There turn left towards Eiersteig and continue to the reservoir path. Continue straight ahead over Brückenweg and Eisenstraße towards Liebenau. Here follow the main street to the right towards Fürstenwalde. At the old post column, take the path to the right and walk through the village until Karl-Xaver-Maximilian-Weg branches off to the left. This leads you to the Dorfstraße of Unterlöwenhain. Walk straight ahead to the first junction on the right-hand side. Follow this section of Dorfstraße up to the fork of Schäfereiweg and Graupenweg. Take the Graupenweg. Upon arriving in Lauenstein take Katharinengasse to the left and shortly after Berggasse. The circular route ends back at the historic market.
