The Dragon’s Cycle Route features magnificent views and leads through a region where time seems to have stood still.

Syrau, not far from Plauen, features a picture-perfect wind mill, a pretty baroque church and a dragon’s cave with colourfully lit stalactites. Legend says that the Dragon of Syrau was killed by the local miller’s apprentice. While cycling this circuit which starts at the cave it becomes clear why the Vogtland region is home to so many mythical figures. Between forests and fields, time seems to have stood still here. Mehltheuer, one of the small towns along the way, features the worldwide smallest museum of musical instruments. Wettinhöhe“ then could compete for the most beautiful view in the world. From this elevated spot you can see up to the ridge of the Fichtelgebirge mountains. Bad Linda with is mineral springs provides a welcome rest in the local Eckardtspark, as does the park of Leubnitz Castle.
