The Dittmannsdorfer Teich was built from 1826 to 1828 and is the highest located in the Freiberg mining district. It now serves as a water management reserve and flood protection. The Bielabach, which flows from Ullersdorf, is dammed here. There is also an inflow and outflow via the Kunstgraben of the Upper Water Supply. The portal of the Martelbacher Rösche, located just a few meters beside the water surface, delivers water via a short covered Kunstgraben to the Dittmannsdorfer Teich.

The Dörnthaler Kunstgraben is a Kunstgraben between the village of Dörnthal and Obersaida in the Ore Mountains dating from the 18th century. It served to supply water for mining operations in Freiberg and is part of the Freiberg mining water management system (Revierwasserlaufanstalt Freiberg).

Construction of the Kunstgraben began in 1786 and was completed in 1790. After evaluating the pond records from 1850 to 1854, which served to determine and document inflow and outflow quantities, a decision was made in 1857 to expand the Dörnthaler and Obersaida Kunstgräben as well as the Obersaida Rösche because significant amounts of water had flowed unused from mining due to insufficient Kunstgraben capacities. The expansion of the Dörnthaler Kunstgraben extended from the Bielabach to the Grundbach. The Dörnthaler Kunstgraben is part of the Upper RWA and passes through the districts of Dörnthal, Haselbach, Mittelsaida, and finally Obersaida. Because of its importance for raw water transfer, the Dörnthaler Kunstgraben is completely covered with concrete slabs.

The mining water management system Freiberg, protected as a technical monument with its Kunstgraben system, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Montanregion Erzgebirge.
