From Dittersdorf train station, walk about 250 m along Bahnhofsstrasse heading northeast (towards Einsiedel), then bear slightly right into Schwarzer Weg. Follow the path until you reach the crossroads at the ski jumping hill. Here, take a sharp right and follow the signs for “Rundweg Dittersdorf”. The steep path leads up through the forest. At the fork in the road at the meadow, keep left and shortly afterwards you will reach the top of the Dittersdorf ski lift. Follow the path through the forest to the crossroads. Turn right, and after a steep climb you will reach open country. Turn right, and shortly afterwards turn left at the signpost to Dittersdorfer Höhe. After about 1.2 km you will come to one of the most spectacular viewpoints of the Ore Mountains, with a breathtaking panoramic view. You will also find a Royal Saxon Triangulation station, built in 1869. Directly below the plateau is the Landgasthof Dittersdorfer Höhe (guest house/restaurant), which is just a few metres away via a narrow path. Then return to the path and follow the green markers. Turn left at the signpost towards Weissbach and follow the path (Filialweg) straight ahead. Walking downhill, you will see Dittersdorf’s outdoor swimming pool on your right, where you can stop for a quick dip. At the primary school you will reach Dittersdorfer Strasse. Turn left here, and then right into Filialweg. Follow this slightly uphill to Chemnitzer Strasse (B180). Turn right and walk to the Gasthof zur Linde inn. From here, follow the “Rundweg Dittersdorf” until you reach your starting point. Behind the beautiful half-timbered house, turn right onto Kemtauer Weg. In the forest, you will pass the small settlement “Kalkofen”; keep to the left here. After reaching a meadow, keep following the signs for the “Rundweg Dittersdorf”. The path leads downhill back into the valley. At the crossroads “Am weissen Stein”, take a sharp right and then immediately left. The path leads you past the Burgstein, which offers a charming view of the Zwönitz valley. Look for the signpost at the edge. After about 300 m, you will come to the B180: cross it and turn left into Zwönitztalstrasse. Cross the railway line and enter Kamerun, which lies within an idyllic bend of the Zwönitz river. Access the Zwönitztalweg via the farm and the Zwönitzbrücke bridge. At the resting place, turn right and follow the shady Zwönitztalweg, which is accompanied by an educational nature trail. After less than 3 km, you will be back at your starting point. On the way, you will pass the Eulenbrunnen fountain and the Bärenbrunnen fountain near the train station.
