The water hiking route between Wechselburg and Colditz surprises with a variety of landscapes that some people in the Leipzig region would not have expected.
Sometimes wild and romantic, sometimes calm and leisurely, the Zwickauer Mulde flows past rocky gorges, forests, idyllic meadow landscapes and magnificent castles. The Wechselburg - Rochlitz inflatable boat tour has become a real classic over the years. The water tour is approx. 8 km long and rarely takes longer than 2 hours. In summer, when there is little water, it can happen that one or the other has to get out of the dinghy. This route offers the best conditions for a project day/class trip or an inflatable boat party followed by a barbecue package as a company celebration!
Allow around 4 - 6 hours for the canoe trip from Rochlitz to Colditz (14 km). Two weirs have to be bypassed! This route is ideal if you are planning a day trip.
