A challenging hike from the romantic Rabenauer Grund through an adventurous gorge over the Somsdorfer Höhe to the edge of the forest town of Tharandt and through the valley of the Wild Weißeritz back to Freital.

The tour begins in the wild and romantic Rabenauer Grund, but after a short stretch you leave it via a steep gorge in the direction of Somsdorf. Iron steps and chains make this section a real adventure. A beautiful view over Freital awaits you in Somsdorf. The route continues over the heights to the slopes of the valley of the wild Weißeritz. The descent to the forestry town of Tharandt begins at the Sun Temple. There it is worth taking a detour into the town or to the forest botanical garden. If you wish, you can stop here and return by bus or train. If you are still in good walking condition, take the Leitenweg in the valley to Hainsberg. Alternatively, you can take the Brüderweg on the slope on the other side of the valley. However, there is another steep ascent. But you will be rewarded with spectacular views.
