An exciting bike route through the green and culturally diverse western part of Leipzig as well as the well-known trendy district of Plagwitz.

This bike route is perfect for a short city round for families, culture enthusiasts and anyone who wants to explore Leipzig's west by bike. The route connects green parks, historic sights and vibrant trendy districts.

Starting in the city center, the route passes the Old Town Hall and the St. Thomas Church, continues through the well-known Clara Zetkin Park along the White Elster river towards the west. In the popular trendy district of Plagwitz, cyclists encounter a special mix of industrial culture and creative scene. Karl-Heine Street is considered the heart of the district with a great selection of restaurants and cultural spots. The many canals, especially the Karl-Heine Canal, have earned Leipzig the nickname "Little Venice". Besides canoe trips and excursion boats, real Venetian gondolas glide through the water here. Anyone who wants to can set off on a small boat trip anytime.
