Auersbergrunde

This circular route, classified as moderately difficult, leads around the 1,018 m high Auersberg. We start in Johanngeorgenstadt (Neustadt) and cycle through the district of Steinbach to the idyllic town of Sosa, which is surrounded by extensive woodland. On the way, it is worth making a detour to the Auersberg summit (with viewing tower), to the viewing rock at Seydewitz-Blick near Sosa (view of the dam and dam wall) and to the Blauenthal waterfall, after which you come to Eibenstock with its Art Nouveau town hall and 18th century town church. The route now continues towards the "Grenztor" pass through the wild and romantic valley of the "Große Bockau". Once you reach the Erzgebirge ridge, you pass the "Kleiner Kranichsee" moor to Johanngeorgenstadt (Neustadt district). On warm days, the Schwefelbach natural swimming pool in Johanngeorgenstadt offers welcome refreshment.
