The "Annaberger Landring" cycle path is 44 km long, is consistently signposted throughout, lies between the two well-known mining towns of Annaberg-Buchholz and Marienberg and connects numerous villages in rural areas in a fascinating way.

The Annaberg Landring consists of two loops that can be combined with each other. A north ring and a south ring, each around 30 kilometers long, can be combined to create a total distance of over 60 kilometers, with the outer ring covering a good 40 kilometers. This is consistently signposted throughout and can be ridden permanently depending on the weather. It is characterized by paved gravel paths, passages on asphalt and pavement as well as controllable forest and meadow paths. County and local roads have to be passed occasionally. Only in the "Zigeunerfelsen" area between the former "Berghof" inn (located on the road from Jöhstadt to Bärenstein) and the Conduppelbachweg in the direction of the Königswald district of Brettmühle is there a very steep, technically demanding section of the route with numerous longitudinal and transverse roots.

It is possible to join the route in many places. We recommend starting at the hiking parking lots in Streckewalde, Boden, Steinbach, Jöhstadt, Königswalde, Mildenau, Geyersdorf and Thermalbad Wiesenbad, for example. Among other things, the Annaberger Landring meanders idyllically along a disused railroad track parallel to the course of the Pressnitz river as the Preßnitz Valley Trail and can be easily mastered by everyone, especially parents with children in bike trailers.

The route intersects or touches hiking trails such as the European long-distance hiking trail E3 and the renowned Zschopautal cycle path. The proximity to border crossings for pedestrians allows for planned or spontaneous detours into the Czech part of the Ore Mountains. Viewpoints and refreshment stops also offer interesting diversions and rest stops.

The attractive route of the Annaberger Landring is characterized by flat sections along rivers and moderate to sometimes steeper climbs and descents in the low mountain range landscape.

Cyclists are always fascinated by the breathtaking views and fantastic perspectives of well-known, typical Erzgebirge villages such as Königswalde with its unmistakable forest hut structure. Even in winter, when there is fresh snow and it is freezing cold, it is a pleasure for every nature lover to discover passages of the Annaberger Landring. Welcome to the Annaberger Landring in a fabulous low mountain range landscape!
