We hike along historic paths to the Forest Botanical Garden. A tour of the facility, which was established in 1811 and now covers 34 hectares, takes us from the woody plants of North America to Japan.

As the oldest of its kind in the world, the Tharandt Forest Botanical Garden was established in 1811 in a part of the Tharandt landscape, which was beautified from 1797, together with the second oldest forestry university in the world, which Heinrich Cotta moved here and is now part of the TU Dresden. Visit the oldest teaching building of the university in the green, the several times extended today's state arboretum up to the last created North American quarters in ForstPARK®.
